Good afternoon church family!

Kids grow up fast. Seems like only yesterday Mandy and I were worried because Gracie was a year old and wasn’t yet walking. I think she knew we would carry her, so she just didn’t see the need. Tomorrow we will have two teenagers in our house. Timmy turns 13 tomorrow, and in a few weeks Gracie will turn 16. I remember turning 16 and being beyond excited about getting my license. The feeling is a little different now that my child is turning 16. Maybe anxiety is a better description of what I’m feeling now. Now that we will have two teenagers with one on the road, my prayer life will definitely improve.

As our children grow, Mandy and I cling to the promise of proverbs 22:6 which says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Mandy and I have always tried to obey God’s command in that verse while trusting in His promise. We are not perfect parents by any stretch, but we do everything in our power to teach the Bible and model a relationship with Christ in all we do. It’s truly been a joy to watch them grow to know and love Jesus Christ.

My prayer for Gracie and Timmy as they approach adulthood, as well as for Annie and Eli as they continue to grow, is that they will pursue Christ in all they do. That they will grow in their love for Him and desire His will for their lives above all else. During my life and journey of faith, I have found that satisfaction and joy can only be found living in the center of God’s will. I pray that my children will experience that same joy and satisfaction as they fulfill God’s plan for their lives.

Sincerely

Pastor Allen
