High Altitude Ministry

Wall Highway’s High Altitude Mission started in 2012.  We partnered with an in-country ministry focusing on people in remote mountain villages.

In 2015, God led us to partner with a fellowship of young Christians from a specific mountain region. Over the past 10 years we have built friendly relationships in 16 remote villages by distributing humanitarian aid (water filter kits, solar lights, hygiene items, and OTC medicines). With each visit, we have presented the Gospel message, translated by the young Christians who were born in these villages. Many positive and heart-felt comments have been expressed about the message.  Pray that they will respond to the Holy Spirit to follow Christ.

Another exciting development of this effort is helping distribute audio New Testaments in the local language.  A team from the fellowship completed the translation about 3 years ago, after a 15 year effort.  They were supervised by Wycliff Bible Translation ministry throughout the process.

About 5 years ago our primary, in-country ministry partner started a long-term program to help poor, Christian students, from the mountains, to pursue a college education.  Currently there are ~14 students at the Red Panda Youth Home.  They get free room and board in the city, while they study for a college degree.  They also receive Biblical discipleship and leadership training to raise up the next generation of Christian leaders.  Tax deductable donations for the Youth Home can be given through Wall Highway Baptist.

It continues to be a great blessing to be a part of what God is doing in the remote parts of the world.  For more information contact David Johnston (256-714-9292 evenings only) or email at: davidwjohnst@gmail.com
