Connection Groups

1st Floor of Adult Education Building, Room 102. Led by Carol Abbott. Contact info: 39carola@gmail.com. An in-depth Bible study focusing on biblical understanding, a relationship with God, life application and spiritual growth.  Current book – “Walk Like Jesus” by Dann Spader.  We will study not only what Jesus said, but what He did and “Why” He did it. We will discover the six foundational practices that Jesus prioritized and how to implement them into our lives. All ladies are invited. You will be amazed at all the new things we will see from a new angle.

1st Floor of Adult Education Building, Room 103. Led by Steve Chitwood. Contact info: chitwoodsj@gmail.com.  256-513-2584  This group engages in focused verse-by-verse study of the books of the Bible.

1st Floor of Adult Education Building, Room 104. Led by Mike Dunne. Contact info: mdunne@outlook.com.  “Questions of Jesus”  A a multi-week study on questions Jesus asked (mainly) of his disciples.  

1st Floor of Adult Education Building, Room 100. Led by Beth Uptagrafft. Using Lifeway’s Bible Studies for Life Senior Adult Curriculum, their mission is glorifying God through Bible study, prayer, service, and fellowship. Many of these ladies are involved in church service including greeting people to make them feel welcome, cooking meals/baking for individuals or events, and visiting the sick.

CWC Hallway Room (Children’s Worship Area). Led by Dan Sigler. Contact info: dansigler76@yahoo.com, cell 251-455-0429.  With a passion to help the newcomer find their place, this group encourages each other to grow in Christ. Class members range in ages 50 and above, providing an excellent range for discussion, learning from each other, and sharing life’s experiences as they relate to the scriptures. This class studies directly from Scripture and is led by the Holy Spirit to help class members learn and apply God’s Word. Beginning in August, this class will start a study of 1st and 2nd Timothy. All are welcome!!

CWC (Children’s Worship Area). Led by Rick Turner. Contact info:  return123@aol.com and 256-783-4847) With a passion to help the newcomer find their place, this group encourages each other to grow in Christ. Class members range in age from their 40s-70s, providing an excellent range for sharing life’s experiences as they relate to the scriptures. This class studies directly from Scripture and is led by the Holy Spirit to help class members learn and apply God’s Word.  Class will begin a John MacArthur study of Jesus’ Parables in August.  All are welcome!

2nd Floor of Adult Education Building, Room 203. Led by Nathan Powless. Contact info: npowless@gmail.com. This class ranges from newly married to parents of growing families. Though not all members are married or able to come with spouses, the focus in on “growing in Christ as a family”, with a Biblical focus on marriage, parenting and being engaged in the community.

1st Floor of Adult Education Building, Room 106. Led by Abraham Demsas. Mostly empty-nesters, its mission is to develop the church as a family through biblical understanding and utilizes Lifeway’s Bible Studies for Life curriculum or engages in topical studies. They are relational, focusing on uplifting each other through monthly socials.

2nd Floor of Adult Education Building, Room 205. Led by Kirk McCauley. Contact info:
mccauley@knology.net. This is a group of “ready” servants. Their meetings incorporate the use of biblical commentary as they study God’s word chapter by chapter. Questions, discussion, and input are encouraged. Members are challenged to Serve in the name of Christ and to Go and Make Disciples. “

2nd Floor of Adult Education Building, Room 206. Led by Lee Hattabaugh. This is a relationship driven group for faith, family and fellowship. Their lessons range from topical studies to books of the Bible, currently focusing on the Acts of the Apostles and the letters of Paul throughout the New Testament.

2nd Floor of Adult Education Building, Room 204. Led by Joseph and Amy Cook Our aim is to help college and career-age adults (age 18 to late 20s) grow in their love and knowledge of God through Bible book and topical studies and discussions about contemporary issues relating to young adulthood. In addition to Sunday morning Connection group gatherings, we also have a weekly Bible study on Thursdays at 7 p.m. For more information, contact Caleb Hecox at caleb@wallhighway.com.  

2nd Floor of Adult Education Building, Room 208. Led by Pastor Allen and Mandy Hays. Young Adults is a fun-filled class that is designed for young married couples, soon-to-be-married couples, and young singles. We discuss a variety of topics to strengthen our faith and grow in our spiritual walk with intentionality to use God’s Word in our learning. We would love for you to join us!

This is a group of ladies that come together to read through scriptures and apply associated teachings and life’s lessons. It is a time of sharing and praying.
