Meals Ministry

The Meals Ministry has been thriving at WHBC over the past couple of years.  Women have stepped up at the urging of the Lord to fully develop this ministry in October of 2005, and it has been passed down over the years to a leaders who shared in the calling for this ministry.  Hundreds of meals had been provided to families who were recovering from sickness, injury, surgery, childbirth, or death in the family. This ministry has been a blessing to many in our congregation, and others in the community as well. If you are a person who has been touched by the Meals Ministry, we would welcome your testimonials! Now under the direction of Amy Twilley, this ministry continues to serve our members and member families alike.

Several people have asked recently what being a member of the Meals Ministry involves.  When we hear of a need within the church body or community, an email is sent out to those who are on the meals ministry member list.  If they are able to help at that time, they email me back with the date and meal they wish to take to the person we are ministering to. You might be able to contribute once a month or once every three months, or even once a year. It is completely up to the you the member and is on a voluntary basis, no phone calls begging for help, and no arm-twisting! It has been a blessing to those who are able to help others in their time of need through providing a meal. We are told by those receiving meals, that they have been touched by the outpouring of love they feel when they arrive.

If this sounds like a ministry you would like to be involved in, please email me, Amy at dabbtwilley@mchsi.com, or give me a call at 679-9000. If you know of a family who would benefit from the service of the Meals Ministry, you may call me at the above number or the church office, at 837-0971 leaving a message and I will contact you.

The Bible tells us to “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2. Please prayerfully consider whether God is leading YOU to be a part of the Meals Ministry.

In His Name,
Amy Twilley
